A Party in the Garden

On Friday, May 12, from 4-6pm, Phoenix High School will be hosting a garden party. The party will be held here in PHS’s very own garden and greenhouse. There will be vegetables, herbs and various other plants for sale at the party. In addition to having vegetables for sale they will also have locally sourced free food.

The garden party is a way for the Farm to School class to invite people to come check out the garden and greenhouse. The students want people to see everything they’ve worked on and grown this year. The garden party will have plants, vegetables and other things that the farm to school class has grown throughout the year. They will be selling these plants and vegetables, all the proceeds collected from their sales will go back to helping the class. The garden party is also a great place to get a gift for Mother’s Day which is this Sunday, May 14. They will be selling beautiful flowers in the greenhouse behind the school for anyone that wants to get their mom flowers in appreciation for her love. Janousek says that this party is “a way to have fun outside of school.”

Everything was grown by the farm to school class so thank those who are a part of the class for all their hard work. The class is also responsible for putting on the party for everyone to attend if they wish to. The class and Mr. Janousek are very excited for this event because it is the biggest event that they do all year. The class has been preparing for this event for a while now, making sure that everything is all ready for the party. They have been working really hard for this so if you are able to, come check out their garden party, which is happening this Friday. Everyone in the class and Mr. Janousek will be very happy to see you there and welcome everyone who would like to attend. The first ever garden party at PHS was last year, Mr Janousek hopes to keep putting on this event as the year’s progress.
