Grease is the Word

Once again the theater department here at PHS puts together a great show for the community, Mrs. Brown and others put together the perfect cast for the Production of Grease. For many of the actors this was their very first show that they have ever been involved with. The process of putting the show together was a long one. Staying after school every day for about two months straight learning dances, songs, bringing the characters to life and much more. It was definitely worth going through everything, I had never done this before and was completely clueless when it came down to understanding how theater works. All the students are very accepting and opening to some new people joining the acting community. Playing one of the most iconic characters was definitely a challenge for me. Everyone knows who ‘Frenchy’ is and let me just say, bringing her to life was one of the hardest challenges I faced throughout the process, but it was also a really fun experience. After opening night I was surprised because I kept receiving positive comments in almost every class I have. I guess one could say the Grease was a success. During all six shows, the production had, what they call, a ‘full house’. Over all, those two months of work paid off. Grease was the perfect Musical as a goodbye to our seniors. Saying bye to the cast, teachers, tech team and our characters was a very bitter-sweet feeling.
