PHS Future Planning Center offers many assets for post-graduation opportunities. The Center can help decide whether to go to a four-year college or university, community college, a professional certification program, the military, or if undecided, they can talk about additional options. They have information on the SAT/ACT examinations, career options, colleges and universities, scholarship opportunities (and applications for scholarships), requirements for NCAA athletes, and support with resume writing, along with many other resources.  The Future Planning Center is available to help students and their families in achieving their goals.

Michelle House is our new Future Planning Center coordinator. It is her first year here at PHS. This semester she is focused on getting students connected with college recruiters. There will be many college visits scheduled and recruiters coming in to meet students who are interested in attending their college. Many college recruiters already stopped by. A recruiter from Linfield is coming by next week, as well one from SOU in a couple weeks. If students are interested in meeting recruiters they should sign up at the Future Planning Center. Ms. House is also focused on meeting all the seniors. If a student plans to go to college he or she should start writing applications.  If you aren’t sure about your future, stop by to meet Ms. House and discuss your future options. Do this soon, before deadlines for applications draw near and the FPC becomes busy.

Later on this spring, there will be many opportunities that will focus on financial aid and scholarships. There will be numerous scholarships available for students to get money for college or whatever school they plan on attending after high school. Also, Ms. House will talk with the juniors as well. So juniors be prepared for the calling in spring. This planning to for their senior year is meant to hopefully make a smooth transition into senior year and college or whatever career after that. If you have any questions feel free to stop by the FPC in the library for any reason at the college corner.
