The FFA Program is an organization that is run by students that take part of the agricultural education program. The FFA program helps with life skills, career skills, public speaking, and other technical skills. “The atmosphere is just so friendly and family like.” Mrs. Walkup says.  The program also includes community service, scholarships, contests, traveling to conventions, and touring agricultural industries. They compete in all sorts of levels all over the place.  FFA is also the largest youth organization in the world with about 629,367 members.

The FFA program has hosted some events pretty recently. One of them was the Back to School BBQ which happened on September 19th. In this event the, food was free and opened to anyone who wanted to come. Throughout the night they informed the people there about the FFA program and what they’re about. Overall it was a pretty great event, with good food and a great atmosphere. Another event they had was the Spaghetti Feed, this event happened on October 5th. The spaghetti feed was a fundraiser to raise money for the programs trip to Chicago. During this event they sold spaghetti for ten dollars a plate and auctioned of baked goods. Many people came to help support the FFA program. Carina Carrera who was there to cover the event added that “the event was pretty successful and everyone seemed to be having a good time.”

If you missed these events and would like to support FFA in their future events, don’t worry you will be able to do so throughout the year. They will be having the Les Schwab Food Drive during the month of October and the Veterans Day Flower Arranging which will be on November 10th. These are only a few of the many events the FFA  program will be hosting this year, as more events come up the program will do its best to keep everyone informed and updated.

What the FFA program does is prepare the students for Premier Leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. There are several students in FFA, the students range from freshmen to graduates. All students are welcome to join the program, for the students who do wish to join FFA, they can pick a form from any officer in FFA or from Ms. Walkup and Mr. Kennedy. We ask everyone to come help support the FFA program whenever they are able to!
