Big Turnout for Student Led Conference’s

On April 21st PHS had student led conference. PHS had their doors open from 8am-8pm for the students to bring their parents to their advisory classroom. Last times students led conferences was in the fall for the seniors, when they reflected on all their academic achievements and had set their goals after high school. Now that the seniors already had their conference over with, they are now preparing for their 2016 graduation. These student led conferences were for all freshman, sophomores, and juniors.

PHS had a great turnout.  Students had a chance to talk about their school progress and achievements to their parents. This was helpful for students to make sure they are on track with their grades and credits to graduate. They evaluated their academic performance and encouraged themselves to do better.  Here it benefited the students to develop leadership skills and to take responsibility for their learning.

There were some students who couldn’t make it to the student led conference. This affects them because it is part of PHS student’s graduation requirements. That means they won’t be able to graduate. Don’t worry there is still a chance to make it up. Try to contact the school and the student’s advisor to make an appointment for a conference. If students don’t do their conference soon they have to do the conference in front of the school’s administrator and that will not look good on them. For all the students who didn’t attend, make an appointment because  you don’t want to be a super senior due to not attending your student led conference.
