Since this was an All-District Band Concert, both Phoenix High School and Talent Middle School bands performed. Each band played a variety of songs. For Phoenix High School, Percussion, Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Bands performed. Talent middle School had the Beginning Band, Junior Varsity Band and the Varsity Band perform. At the end, all of the bands combined and play the mass tune of the year.

The bands have been practicing for this concert since early April which is a long time to prepare for a concert. All of the songs that were performed took a long time to perfect. The concert was a treat for everyone.

The songs that were performed by the PHS bands were Wart Hog #3 by the Percussion Ensemble, The Incredibles, Six String Shuffle, Pick up the Pieces by the Jazz band, and Foundry by all of the PHS bands. The songs that the Middle School performed were Coral Rock by the Beginning band, Dancing Kites by the Beginning and Junior Varsity bands, All Star and the theme song from Rocky by the JV and Varsity bands. The Lion King was performed by the PHS bands and the TMS Varsity bands. After that, all of the seniors were recognized. At the end, all of the bands combined and performed Adventure in India and Homeward Bound.

Since it was Mrs. Robison’s last year as a band teacher, the students planned something special for her. The song Homeward Bound was played for her with the bands and choirs. The current and previous band and choir students that Mrs. Robison has taught have come together and performed a song just for her. This is in honor of all of her hard work and dedication to the bands. We will all miss Mrs. Robison very much but wish her a great retirement.

This is the last concert of the year. After this, we’ll be anticipating the marching band season to start in the fall. This concert was a very memorable concert because of all of the great performances, the recognized seniors, and saying goodbye to Mrs. Robison.
