Have you ever wanted to travel to Asia? Well three years ago, Faraz Ahmad originally came from Pakistan, to come live in America. He is a senior this year at Phoenix. Pakistan is a country in Asia, Pakistan is a federal parliamentary republic located in the cross-road of South Asia and West Asia. It is the sixth most populous country with a population of over 200 million people. We then went on to ask Faraz a few questions about America and how he feels being here versus being home in Pakistan.

We first asked Faraz how long he has been in America. Faraz said “It’s almost going to be three years.” Then we asked what he misses most from Pakistan. He replied with “I kinda miss most of my friends, because I haven’t been in contact with them for a while.” We asked how are schools different in Pakistan versus America. He added “It’s kind of weird, people over here go to the teacher’s classroom and over there the students stay in one classroom and the teacher comes in to teach. Also, every period, classes change so you don’t know everyone in all of your classes.”

We asked him a few more questions, this time about foods. We asked was what was your favorite food from Pakistan? He answered with “its was Biryani, it is a food made with rice and stuff.” We also asked what was your favorite food in America? He replied with “I think it’s Bean Burritos.”

We also got into what he thought of his peers and what they thought of him by their actions. We asked him are the students nice to you, and what kind of questions do they ask you? He added “yes I think so and they ask things like hey why did you move over here and pretty much like all the questions we asked him while interviewing him.”  He also added that he has a sister. She goes to PHS also and she is a junior this year. His sister’s name is Amna and she has joined into school activities such as Basketball. Faraz joined cross country also.

Despite being of different ethnicity and not knowing the english language, Faraz and his sister have joined activities that PHS has offered. Also, PHS has been very welcoming so keep it up pirates! Show that pirate pride!
