Miss Justice

High school, the four years that can impact someone’s life so much. Many participate in sports and clubs at school to spend some free time. While others help the community outside of school to spend free time. Before 2016 ends we just have to mention one more student that has spent her time by participating in new activities while helping her community. You may know her or have heard of her. Justice Williams is a Junior this year and has been doing a large amount of work in the last months of 2016 and the beginning months of 2017.

As you might have heard from PHTV Justice will be participating in the Miss Rogue Valley Pageant this year. This will be her first year participating. The Miss Rogue Valley Pageant is like any other pageant. Many will see that pageants contain a large amount of contestants fighting for the crown, with the winner receiving a large amount of money. Justice describes the process of the money being divided equally as it “trickling down to the other winners.” The reason for signing up for the pageant is the interest that she had on how this can lead to larger pageants such as Miss America and Miss Universe. Another significant reason for joining is the scholarship money, but it was also only $25 to enter.

By participating in the pageant Justice will also have a donation drive for the Maslow project. The Maslow project is an organization that helps out young adults, by giving them the resources that they need. They also help by giving them a chance to do sports or club activities without paying a penny. It let’s kids and young adults to not worry and just be students. The donation started late October early November, but will be going on until the end of February. Even after the donation drive is over donations will still be accepted and can be given at the Maslow project headquarters or by Krysten. Krysten is a helper who comes to PHS and takes the donations. Justice hopes that people will be able to help by donating toiletries. The slogan for this drive is buy two and donate one, but students can donate more than one product. If you have questions about the donation drive or the pageant you can find Justice around the halls or message her through facebook.

The toiletry drive is open to all. Come and support Justice Williams at the Miss Rogue Valley pageant March 19th 2017 at the North Medford high school theater. Tickets are not available at the moment, but when they do go on sale it will be $15. The money from the tickets will go to the scholarship fund towards the winner of the pageant and the rest of the contestants. Good luck Justice with your donation drive and the pageant. To all staff members and students have an amazing winter break, christmas, and a new year. Till we meet again in 2017.
