Our school has over 700 students, everyone is unique in their own different way. Many come together to make groups of friends. No matter the age or the grade. Phoenix High School students are separated in four different years. The first year is Freshman, basically the new students to the high school and also gaining the beginning amount of credits needed to graduate. The middle years being the sophomore and juniors. By this time they know the school pretty well and are retrieving the majority of their credits needed. Finally we have the last class. The professionals of the school, the seniors. Seniors have earned the majority of their credits, but still receiving the last bit of credits needed to graduate at the end of the year.  Each student has a different story and a different goal on where they want to end up in the future. Today we will be mentioning one student in particular that has made an impact in his life during his years at Phoenix.

Bryce Crawford is one of the unique students here at PHS, and is also going through his last year of high school. Many high school students spend their four years playing sports and participating in clubs. For those four years Bryce has been in marching band, playing the Baritone. This year he is the drum major. He has also participated in our school’s swim team for four years. After graduating Phoenix, Bryce plans to head to North Bend and go to a community college where he is determined to take their medical courses. .

During this time Bryce has spent his time outside of school to help out the community. The majority of students help out the community by volunteering, or getting a job to gain money. Every wednesday Bryce heads to the Mercy flight headquarters to have training and lessons about the medical field, such as EMT trainings and techniques, but also scenarios on powerpoints.  Mercy Flights is medical transportation offered across the western United states after being founded 1949 by George Milligan.“It get’s our feet wet,” is how Bryce sees the time he uses to volunteer for Mercy Flights. Bryce has been volunteering for Mercy flights for nearly two years, and enjoys it very much. With the time spent with Mercy Flights and his interest in the medical field, Bryce plans to have a job as a paramedic.

Congrats Bryce for finishing your first three years of High School, and good luck on completing your last year of high school. To the rest of our wonderful students good luck on the school years that you have left. Enjoy them while you can by participating in sports and clubs that offered around the school.
